Md. Atikur Rahman comes from Naogaon district. He has his father, five brothers and one sister in his family. He is the youngest among brothers. He has passed Dakhil from Madrasha Board and now lives in Dhaka working in Anonto Garments. Atik’s mother was a good singer but she is no more in this world. All the members of his family can sing more or less. They inherit this singing talent from his mother. This is the second time he is participating in this contest. Last time he was left out in the audition round. Pronob Ghosh scolded him a lot as he had no academic background in music. But it was a positive push for him. He came back and told this to his MD sir. After that he took initiative and designated a music teacher for him. He was very kind to bear all the expenses of that music teacher.

When Atik performed the song ‘Jiboner Golpo’ in Track round Partha Barua said to Atik that he has all the quality to become a ‘playback singer’ and Bangladesh film industry needs him a lot. Atik took part in Closeup 1 audition in Dhaka. He sang eleven songs there and gained judges approval to go to the next round. In selection round he sang only a few lines of his song ‘Chokher nojor emni koira’ and Partha stopped him saying that he doesn’t need to sing more because he is selected for the next round. In instrument round he sang ‘Paharer kanna dekhe’. He bagged highest score from the judges in Avijatra round when he sang the song ‘Haire manush’. Listening to the song, Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul wished that if he had his cell phone, he would have called Andrew Kishore to tell him that he has got another ‘Kishore’. Fahmida said that the nice starting of the song made the whole song awesome. In Shadhin Bangla Betar Kendro round he sang ‘Salam salam hajar salam’ and got judges’ appreciation. His Moulik Gaan ‘Tor kopale jodi keu na dei tip’ is written and composed by Ashraf Babu. At first his composer was not very much happy with him but Atik won his heart by his beautiful performance. In Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul special round he sang the song ‘Amar shara deho’ and unfortunately was eliminated. But ‘Haire manush’ brought him back again. Now his only wish is to go forward and win the title of Closeup 1. Atik is very fond of music and he wants to build his career in music. He is very grateful to Closeup 1 and wants the blessings of his audiences.
